About this game
Welcome to the Far Future! The year is 2060 AD (After Drive) and humanity has scattered itself among the stars.
About the Game:
Flatlined begins with the player characters waking up aboard a dark, unfamiliar vessel that is sinking into a lake on an unknown world. Worse than that, they can't remember how they got there, they can't even remember their own names. This suddenly united group must escape their predicament, find safety and hopefully a way off of this forlorn planet. Signs of civilization are close by, but things won't be so easy. Hungry subterranean creatures stir at night, and worse still, the people responsible for the Traveller's predicament may be closer than they think.
This game will be mostly about surviving a relentless alien animal hunger with incredibly limited resources, with a secondary theme of figuring out who among the survivors might want to see you eaten.
About the System:
Mongoose Traveller 2e is the most recent edition of the Traveller game system, a system that has a history stretching back to 1977. Traveller uses a 2d6 dice system, and all rolls are made with various amounts of d6's. Characters will use their skills to help navigate the game world and to perform various actions, ranging from jury-rigging a radio, to bashing a giant bug to bits, to using their degree in xenobiology to ascertain what kind of bug those bits formed. Traveller is mainly a Space Opera kind of sci-fi with the occasional realistic flair, not speculative fiction. Psionic powers exist, and in fact, are vaguely normalized among humans. At that, the galaxy is filled with an incredibly diverse panoply of aliens (of which, only two will probably be playable during this game).
I haven't yet decided between pre-gens or custom characters, we will probably find out during the con.
