The Game

MAHARLIKA is a technomystic, Filipino Mythology inspired Science Fantasy RPG centered around Mekanized Weapons or Meka, and their pilots: the eponymous Maharlika. You will play as these titular spiritwarriors, mavericks, aces, and knights that all swear loyalty to a Datu, one of the CEOs of the Megacorporations, so that you can protect the technospiritual galaxy of Arkipelago.

The game is a tactical Mech RPG, so expect grid combat. It is also techno-feudal/star-struck Cyber punk in vibe and tone. I'm gonna run this like you're anime protagonists.

The Pitch

You are on the outs with your patron megacorps and are at risk of losing your Meka to debt. Your non-compete contracts prevent you from taking any work in the Lakanate, but fortunately the Komunikasyon Syndicate-Agency (KOMSA) is not technically under Lakanate jurisdiction and they have simple job for you: Go to an Upstream planet, left uncolonized for some reason, and investigate a downed Balete Tower. Easy money right?
